If you hadn't read it yet or weren't paying attention, some very awesome news has arrived regarding the Autodesk AEC Collection (and Product Collection for that matter). Read the In the Fold press release here. The Collections now have a few new additions that are game changers in my mind. Yes it's still expensive, but the amount that you get for the investment is honestly staggering. I was not expecting them to do this and I'm impressed that they did. So what do you now get?


Fabrication CADmep
Advance Steel
Robot Structural Analysis
Revit Live (although it may have been in there already)...

Personally I'm excited about the explosion of workflows that will now be available at the exact same price point, specifically with CADmep and Advance Steel. This was a good decision by the mothership.

Navisworks lesser known functions

If you're not using Navisworks, the question is why? Especially if you've now purchased the AEC Collection from Autodesk. You have the Navis Manage at your disposal and no matter who/where you are in this industry, Navis has functionality for you.
