AEC Collection: New and Improved for Fabrication and Virtual Reality!

                                    Image result for aec collection
If you hadn't read it yet or weren't paying attention, some very awesome news has arrived regarding the Autodesk AEC Collection (and Product Collection for that matter). Read the In the Fold press release here. The Collections now have a few new additions that are game changers in my mind. Yes it's still expensive, but the amount that you get for the investment is honestly staggering. I was not expecting them to do this and I'm impressed that they did. So what do you now get?

Fabrication CADmep
Advance Steel
Robot Structural Analysis
Revit Live (although it may have been in there already)...

Personally I'm excited about the explosion of workflows that will now be available at the exact same price point, specifically with CADmep and Advance Steel. This was a good decision by the mothership.

Revit 2017 for Fabrication

Do you use Autodesk CADmep / ESTmep / CAMduct? Have you implemented Revit, (2017 to be clear)? Do you use SysQue? Have you attempted to not use SysQue and just use the building3Dcontent.com library of content? Have you found that the "managed" part of the SysQue database actually causes more issues than it fixes?

These are things I think about?
What are your thoughts?

CADmep, CADmep commands, Autodesk Fabrication

Courtesy of Jason Hudson: CADmep has over 230 commands! Do you know them all? Yeah, neither do I. And finding documentation for them all in one place is near impossible. So for that reason I decided to make a little tool palette app to remind me occasionally. I guarantee there are a few here you don't know! See screenshot here: http://bit.ly/16fFhdR You are welcome to download it if you think it might be helpful. Be sure and view the README for instructions.
